Curtis J. Faulkner is an international freelance artist based in New York City. After attending the prestigious B.F.A. Acting Program at Southern Methodist University, he went on to graduate from the higher education curriculum at Oure College of Performing Arts in Denmark, making him the first American to be accepted into this program. He toured Europe with Vanddansen Company led by Ingrid Kristensen, then taught at both the National Theatre of Greenland and Qiajuk Dance Studios, Greenland’s premier dance studio. Curtis then was awarded both the Serge Onik Scholarship and the Richard Ellner Scholarship to study in the Professional Semester Program at Broadway Dance Center in NYC. Curtis currently choreographs for PS 261 Afterschool and is a teaching artist for Midori & Friends, where he teaches Cumbia, Son Jarocho, and Bullerengue to primary school students. Curtis inspires students to become storytellers through dance and warmly encourages them to share and explore their own rich cultures.
